Courtyard Café

A warm Northumbrian welcome awaits you in our Courtyard Cafe. Choose from a delicious range of sandwiches, soup and savoury bites in our self-service cafe, all freshly prepared by our chefs.

If you are in need of a treat to fuel your adventures, we also have a mouth-watering selection of cakes and sweet treats all to enjoyed alongside a wide range of hot and cold drinks.

Stables Fryery

Enjoy traditional fish and chips from our Victorian-style fryery, housed in the castle's old stable block.

As well as sustainably sourced cod and chips, the fryery also serves a range of other chip shop favourites.

Armoury Takeaway

Located within the medieval Artisan’s Courtyard, The Armoury takeaway has a selection of freshly prepared paninis and sandwiches, sweet treats and hot and cold drinks for when you are looking for a quick but delicious bite to eat.

From tasty flavoursome plant-based food serving chilli, curry and hot dogs to delicious hog roast, local street food providers will be located within The Courtyard, offering a delicious selection of hot food options during peak periods.
